You’ll join the Product, Practice and Knowledge (PPK) group in one of our practices. “Practices” are how we group and organize our solutions and products based on our clients’ industry or business function. They’re integral to how we win and deliver results to our clients and are a key strategic priority within our firm. Operations roles are critical in helping to drive and measure the strategic direction and operations of a practice.

The Sustainability Practice is a global and transversal capability that cuts across all of Bain’s industries/capabilities. We help our clients make critical decisions that impact the core of their business strategy, related to sustainability strategy, the environmental and social impact of operations, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability-related growth and cost opportunities. WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

This Operations Senior Analyst (OSA) will report to the Internal Communications and People Engagement Senior Manager. The OSA will play a key role in amplifying the Sustainability practice’s reach and help shape the way we communicate about our sustainability work internally and externally, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and other tools to enhance our storytelling. 

This role is ideal for someone who is excited about the intersection of sustainability, communications, and AI, and enjoys bringing structure to fast-moving projects. Successful candidates will be passionate about sustainability, creative in their approach to content creation, excellent at managing complex projects with precision, and comfortable working with AI and staying ahead of AI advancements. 

OSAs identify trends and issues, drawing out insights to recommend actions. OSAs can effectively progress deliverables; prioritize effectively, innovate, streamline, and improve ways of working, in collaboration and coordination with multiple, often senior, stakeholders across the business.


WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Content development & AI-driven storytelling

  • Gather stories and data to craft clear, compelling content that engages internal and external audiences, including presentations, newsletters, social media posts, webinars, articles, reports, and video
  • Contribute storytelling ideas, from pitch to execution, for multiple channels
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance content creation, analyze data, and extract audience insights
  • Ensure all content adheres to existing brand guidelines and brand voice
  • Stay informed on sustainability trends, AI advancements, storytelling best practices, and evolving practice priorities to sharpen messaging
  • Monitor audience engagement data and perform content analysis to refine approach and optimize messaging
  • Complete additional special projects as needed

 
Project management

  • Own and execute communications projects, developing and maintaining structured workplans to keep communications projects on track  [SP1] 
  • Maintain content calendars to ensure strategic and timely messaging
  • Contribute to planning and execution of key meetings 
  • Experiment with and integrate AI tools to drive project management efficiency  
  • Anticipate challenges and clear roadblocks with the team’s support to keep initiatives moving forward 

 
Stakeholder management & coordination

  • Collaborate across Bain teams to align messaging on sustainability priorities (e.g., partner with Recruiting to develop materials that position Bain as a sustainability leader; work with Marketing to amplify key sustainability messages in social media)
  • Work effectively cross-practice: coordinate seamlessly, ensure information-sharing, proactively flag roadblocks
  • Oversee the Further Enthusiast Community, including fostering engagement with inspiring and informative content, facilitating meaningful interactions, responding to community members, analyzing membership and engagement trends, and growing the community
  • Engage with other sustainability-focused communities within Bain (e.g., Green Teams, Further affiliates) to foster a strong network of sustainability advocates 

 
Additional responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for professional development using available resources, such as Bain’s internal training platform, on-the-job training and mentoring
  • Informally coach and support junior team members  
  • Learn new tools and platforms as needed


ABOUT YOU 

 Required:

  • Bachelor of Arts or equivalent undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials
  • You are intellectually curious and able to demonstrate understanding of sustainability concepts in a business context
  • You are known for your high-quality work, attention to detail and organization
  • You have strong research, writing and editing skills, with a proven track record of making complex topics engaging 
  • You have strong project management abilities, with a proven track record of juggling multiple priorities 
  • You are a regular user of AI and automation tools for content creation, research, and/or workflow automation and have a growth mindset about the use of AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Adobe Firefly)
  • You have the maturity and integrity to manage highly confidential information and use technology in a responsible way (e.g. AI)
  • You can self-motivate and work autonomously, integrating guided coaching and collaborative teaming to further develop
  • You can work in a global team, collaborating with colleagues across the globe and in different time zones

 
Preferred:

  • 4+ years of professional experience in marketing, operations or a related field
  • You have experience supporting the development of content strategies, including setting objectives, determining audience segments, performing research, auditing competitors, selecting channels, and developing editorial calendars 
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment 
  • You have experience using social media in a corporate context to advance business objectives
  • You have familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., Sustainable Development Goals, GRI, CDP, EcoVadis)
  • You have strong proficiency with communication tools (e.g., PowerPoint, SharePoint, Microsoft CRM, Zoom Webinars, and Staffbase)
