Description & Requirements

Role Purpose

Responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and delivering accurate and timely financial and management reporting, including taxation, compliance, and planning activities for Bain & Company’s consulting offices in Australia and New Zealand. This role also serves as a strategic business partner to local stakeholders.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (working directly with the Commercial and FP&A Manager):
    1. Prepare monthly three-month cash flow forecast and upload to the Global Treasury system
    2. Run month end P&L reports
    3. Assist with monthly Profit and Loss analysis for certain cost centres
    4. Prepare monthly cost analysis and work with stakeholders to ensure alignment with cost forecast
    5. Assist in Forecasting and Planning
    6. Updating Headcount movements and Reporting:
      • Ensure the global headcount reporting system is accurately maintained to reflect actual office headcount
      • Reconcile ahead of the monthly forecasting, and perform analysis on current tracking against Plan
  • Financials:
    1. Work closely with the accounting team based in the New Delhi office to:
      • Prepare/upload and review/post journal entries
      • Review monthly reports, Balance Sheet, bank reconciliation and Fixed Assets Register
      • Update and review Month-close accounting platform
  • Compliance/Reporting and Taxation:
    1. Assist with preparation of year end reporting (W2, footnotes, tax package)
    2. Review BAS Lodgement
    3. Upload tax briefing request in KPMG portal
    4. Review and submit annual FBT lodgement
    5. Prepare and submit Payment Times Reporting
    6. Review various Australian Bureau of Statistics Surveys
    7. Manage internal and external auditors throughout the tax audit process 
  • Other:
    1. Continual support with ongoing projects around expense benchmarking 
    2. Assist and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as and when required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualified and/or partly through or completed CA/CPA
  • Experienced in Statutory Financial Reporting and FP&A
  • Solid Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • 4-6 years strong accounting background experience
  • Experience in a professional services firm preferred but not essential
  • Experience with SAP preferred but not essential
