WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Divestitures practice, a global capability team supporting clients through transformative portfolio moves across the M&A lifecycle—from strategy and diligence to merger integration and divestitures. You’ll collaborate closely with regional affiliates, industry experts, product leaders, and country leads to shape and scale impact across Bain’s client base.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The M&A Strategy and EMEA Practice Manager will be a leader in driving commercial success in the EMEA region through high quality, high velocity discussions for client development and proposals in collaboration with regional leadership as well as developing cutting-edge insights on M&A Strategy and dealmaking.
The M&A Strategy and EMEA Practice Manager plays a critical role in growing and strengthening the EMEA M&A and Divestitures practice through proactive commercial support, team development, and execution of global and regional strategic initiatives. The role involves regular engagement of several stakeholders, including regional affiliates, industry interlocks, country leads, and product leaders to support the regional and client-specific agenda. Activities include proactive opportunity management, support of M&A discussions at priority accounts, and development of the M&A expert and talent base in EMEA.
The M&A Strategy and EMEA Practice Manager also develops and manages cutting-edge IP and research with the goal of helping our clients get better at M&A and build Bain’s brand in M&A. Activities include conducting primary and secondary research, quantitative analysis, development of proprietary data and tools, and crafting materials for senior client audiences. This role collaborates closely with Editorial and Marketing to package and promote insights, for example in Bain’s annual and midyear M&A reports. In addition, the M&A Strategy Practice Manager is responsible for developing and commercializing Bain’s M&A Strategy and M&A Capability products, with targeted client opportunity support.
Essential Functions:
- Shape and execute EMEA M&A commercial strategy and operations.
- Collaborate with EMEA Regional Practice Leader to set overall regional strategy to grow the M&A business at industry, country, and priority account level.
- Support commercial operations including proactive client development, key account management, opportunity management, and direct proposal support on select opportunities.
- Collaborate with M&A solution/product leaders to match relevant content and expertise to opportunities.
- Build our brand in-region via prioritized forums/collateral/marketing.
- Foster a community of engaged affiliates and experts.
- Develop proprietary and differentiated insights on M&A strategy
- Conduct primary and secondary research, quantitative analysis, and develop proprietary frameworks, tools and data on dealmaking, M&A best practices and market trends
- Package insights for senior stakeholders
- Contribute to published insights and research
- Support M&A marketing strategy and agenda.
- Manage M&A Strategy and M&A Capability products
- Develop elements of specific IP and product offerings for M&A Strategy and Capability, including materials tailored to specific sectors/industries.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs and product roadmap, support innovation in POV, analytical insights, digital/AI tools and delivery model
- Support commercial opportunities, proposals and case team mobilization for relevant projects.
- Inspire and coach practice team
- Support individual skill and career development for direct reports.
- Act as team leader, facilitating team engagement and development.
- Support trainings and informal mentorship across broader M&A practice team.
ABOUT YOU
- Current or recent consulting experience within a global strategy consulting company at the Senior Consultant or Manager level
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex analyses and synthesize strategic insights.
- Proven self-starter, comfortable with working virtually across offices with stakeholders, supervisor and team
- Skilled at identifying opportunities for commercial growth and transformation and driving change through an organization by indirectly influencing multiple stakeholders
- Ability to develop and drive pragmatic business insights supported by complex business research and analysis in fast-paced environment
- Proficient in developing audience-right high-quality presentations
- 6-8 years experience
- MBA preferred
