Nearly two-thirds of executives say they are taking steps to mitigate automation’s impact, including training and transition support.
While many companies are struggling to fill roles in a tight labor market, some are already deploying automation in ways that could help bridge the gap. Bain’s research finds that 49% of executives said they had already eliminated a significant number of roles in their organization, or plan to do so within the coming year. Even more executives—about 65%—said they are taking steps to mitigate the impact of automation on their organization and their people—for example, by offering training that helps employees raise their skills and in providing support during job transitions.
