João Soares, a partner in our Johannesburg office and the former global head of BGLAD, Bain’s LGBTQ+ network, joined as an associate partner after his time at Carne in Portugal. After joining our Madrid office, João received opportunities to work in Brussels, Paris, Australia, and now London, where he leads our financial services practice for EMEA (our Europe, Middle East and Africa locations).
Throughout his time at Bain, João was not only lead to grow in his career, but in Bain’s LGBTQ+ community as well. Starting off only sharing his sexual orientation with a moderator in the BGLAD network, João came out on his terms, and vows to make sure everyone in the LGBTQ+ community can do the same.
