Tom Wendt

Tom Wendt is a leader in Bain's Technology and Automotive practices, focused primarily in the intersection of automotive and tech, venture capital and corporate innovation. He is also an expert in the firm's Advanced Manufacturing & Services practice.

Tom has a strong track record of building profitable, growing businesses with industry-recognized expertise. He holds deep management expertise in rapid-growth and turnaround environments with a proven ability to successfully set strategy, grow and turnaround business operations. He is passionate about the ongoing mobility revolution and the ways in which engineering, building, selling and using cars is changing.

He has extensive experience in corporate venture capital and in supporting and mentoring great founders, teams and companies to achieve their full potential and to rewire industries.

Outside of his client work, Tom sits on the advisory boards of Energy Impact Partners and Next Future Transportation Inc.

Prior to Bain, he co-led the North American automotive practice of a leading global strategy consultancy. He also co-founded Icebreaker Ventures, Autonomous World Fund, a unique multi-corporate strategic venture capital fund around autonomous, connected, electrified and shared mobility.

Tom holds an MBA, an MSME and a BSc from Darmstadt University of Technology. He also attended Harvard Business School's Executive Education Program.
